To the Women Who Wouldn’t Let Me Stay Small
A Galentine’s Day note from my heart
There are women in my life who did not simply cheer me on… they challenged me, they questioned me, and they stretched me. They refused to let me shrink.
And today, I want to honor them.
Not just the easy friendships or the comfortable ones. But the women who sparked change. The ones who lifted my chin when I wanted to look down. The ones who held my feet to the fire when I was tempted to settle.
You know who you are.
You are the friend who said, “That’s not who you are,” when I started to believe a smaller story about myself.
You are the one who asked the hard question instead of nodding politely.
You are the woman who prayed for me when I didn’t know how to pray for myself.
You are the one who told me the truth gently, sometimes not so gently, because you loved me more than you loved my comfort.
I’ve learned the real sisterhood is not flattery… it’s refinement. It’s iron sharpening iron. It’s late-night conversations that leave you both changed. It’s accountability wrapped in compassion. It’s laughter after tears. It’s forgiveness when we misstep. It’s growth together.
There were seasons when I wanted applause and what I needed was honesty.
There were moments I wanted agreement and what I needed was perspective.
There were times I wanted to quit and what I needed was a woman who said, “No. Not you. Not this time.”
And because of you… I am braver. I am clearer. I am stronger. I am softer in the right places. I am bolder in the necessary ones.
Undeniable joy is not just found in romance. It is found in women who choose to walk with you through ambition, disappointment, reinvention, menopause, motherhood, calling, confusion, and second acts.
So, to the women who:
• Sent the text
• Asked the follow-up question
• Showed up at the event
• Bought the book
• Spoke the truth
• Celebrated the win
• Sat with me in the hard
Thank you.
You are part of whoI am becoming.
Today, I celebrate you.
And if you are reading this, I hope you take a moment to send a message to the woman who sharpened you. The one who refused to let you stay small. The one who loved you enough to help you grow.
Tag her. Text her. Pray for her. Thank her.
Because undeniable joy is often carried on the shoulders of sisterhood.
Be Happy,
Kim 🧡
