Saying I Love You

My days feel busy and curiously unproductive, and I’m trying to figure out why. The to-do list is shorter now than in days past. The deadlines and edits were maddening. Launch seemed frantic. And for what, I wonder (often out loud). Planning, posting on socials, blogging, posting on socials, emailing, and posting, yes on socials.

Many have commented, “I started your book! I love the beginning” or “I felt like we were sitting down for a chat”. I say thanks and tell them how much I’d appreciate a review!

And then the wait… how many did I sell? 350 so far. Who will review? 36 as of today. Who will notice they’re in the book and how much they meant to me? 2.

And I’ve realized that writing a book is a very public way of being intimate. We share the stories that we needed once upon a time, hoping to help someone get through it just a little easier or perhaps with a sunnier point of view.

It’s like saying I love you and waiting for a reply (for a really long time).

I started a little Substack account one year ago, during an edit break. I thought I needed to keep writing… to keep my creative thoughts flowing. I return today, to write my third post, in an attempt to prove myself right after recommending the platform to one of my coaching clients. I’ve heard this is the best place to find your people when you love to write.

So, Hello!

I’m Kim. I’m the author of a Christian non-fiction book titled, Reflections of Joy: Learning to Love the Woman You See While Becoming The One You’re Meant to Be. I’m a wellness coach, and after experiencing all there is to manage when releasing a book, a launch coach. My first journal, “My Owners Manual” in the works, and have plans to begin and complete my first fiction manuscript by the end of the year.

I’m sharing this with all the hope I have in me that someone will want to read my stories as much as I needed to write them.
